MBC has the gravesites of the parents of Carter Braxton, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. The church was originally organized as an Anglican church, but was abandoned during the Revolution. It re-opened as a Baptist church in the early 19th century.

Children’s Church is available for all preschool and elementary-aged kids on most Sundays. The children leave just before the sermon begins and return at the conclusion of the service. They experience their own Bible lesson, music, activities, and a snack.
