Lower King and Queen Baptist Church
Rev. Terry Morrison

Sunday School at 10:00 am and Worship at 11:00 am. Due to fire that destroyed church building on August 13, 2021, beginning on Sunday, September 5, 2021, the church met at the Woman's Club House at King and Queen Court House, 208 Allens Circle (off Route 14), King & Queen Courthouse. The new church building was completed and began having services there at 204 Timber Branch Road, Mascot since November 17, 2024.

Elders Robert Ware and John Waller, who founded Lower King and Queen Baptist Church on October 17, 1772, were imprisoned in 1771 and 1774 for preaching with the licenses required of ministers dissenting from the Church of England.
Ware, Williams Todd, and Isaac Diggs served as pastors here for more than 100 years collectively. As the congregation grew, members formed four other churches: Poroporone (1807), Mattaponi (1828), Olivet (1842), and Second Mount Olive (1868). The church burned on February 2, 1919. The current church building, a simple frame Victorian-style church, was completed in May 1920 and burned on August 13, 2021.
