Good Friends Say Goodbye:
On March 3, 2016, Pastor Pedro Burgos and his wife Gladys stopped by the MTBA office in Saluda to say “Goodbye”. Pastor Burgos has served faithfully as the pastor of La Iglesia El Camino since 2000. It was Dr. Jack Paterson who approached Pedro about uniting his church with the MTBA and it was a good union for both the church and the MTBA. But now the time has come to move to the next chapter in Pastor Burgos and Gladys’s ministry. Because of the lack of work for Hispanics in the Middle Peninsula area, those attending has been in a steady decline for some time. It has now reached the point that Pedro feels La Iglesia El Camino must close her doors. The church will no longer be in existence after February 2016. Pedro and Gladys are making plans now to do some vacationing in the south and will eventually settle somewhere in the Atlanta area. They do not have plans to start another church anytime soon, but with Pedro, Gladys and the Lord you can never tell what door the Lord will open for them. God Bless you both. We will miss you, but our prayers will certainly be with you!
